Grid Tie Systems

EverGreen POWERSOLUTIONS can install a Grid-tied Alternate Power System.

How it Works

Your solar panels and/or wind turbine produce electric energy, which channels through the inverter to power your home. Any excess power produced is directed back into the electric power grid, thereby providing what is known as “green power” for the use of others.

When you are grid-connected and your power generation slows due to inadequate solar or wind conditions, the grid connection allows you to draw power from the grid. If you produce more energy than you need, the excess power turns your hydro meter backwards, reducing your electric bill. This is called net metering and is available through many electric utility companies now.

Independently produced green energy can be sold back  to the grid in Ontario by way of a Standard Offer Contract. See our link below for more details on what you can be paid for renewable energy production.

What is net metering?

Net metering is the measurement of the quantity of energy you generate against the quantity you use. Your bill will be the calculation of that “net” total.

What are the benefits of Net Metering?

  • You can lower your electricity costs while protecting the environment.
  • Net metering means you do not need to purchase batteries or a backup generator. Nor will you need to factor these costs into the price of installing a renewable energy system.
