Wind
EverGreen POWERSOLUTIONS can install a variety of systems using
Wind Power, Solar Power,
or a Hybrid of the two.
How does Wind Power work?
The kinetic energy of the wind can be changed into electrical
energy. The wind’s energy can be harnessed with a wind turbine.
The wind turning the blades drives a generator, which creates electricity.
In order for a wind turbine to work efficiently, wind speeds usually
must be above 19 to 22 kph. Wind has to be this speed to turn the
turbines fast enough to generate electricity. The number of kilowatts
of electricity produced depends on the size of the turbine, and
the average speed of the wind. Wind turbines suitable for residential
wind power production are rated from 500 watts size to 20 KW size.
What are the benefits?
- Environment - Wind turbines produce no air pollution.
- Energy Independence - Reduced dependence on the grid.
- Cost - One of the most cost-effective ways to produce your own
electricity
- Remote Electricity Generation - Wind is a great option for off-grid
applications
- Complements Solar PV - Wind and solar can work well in a hybrid
system
